Jacob joined Cooper Engineering in the summer of 2008 as a student intern after spending the previous two summers interning for WisDOT at their office in Spooner. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in the Spring of 2009, Jacob was hired full-time at Cooper Engineering.
Jacob has worked on numerous roadway, bridge, railway, structural, and site design projects while also overseeing construction projects. Jacob became a Wisconsin registered Professional Engineer in 2013. Jacob has managed all of Cooper’s bridge design projects since 2020 with many of them through the WisDOT Local Bridge Program. Jacob was appointed to the company’s board of directors in 2024 and elected Vice President in 2025. Jacob also currently supervises the Construction Staff.
Jacob has been an active member in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Wisconsin (ACEC WI) serving on the ACEC Civil 3D Workshop planning committee. Jacob is proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS (Hydraulic Modeling of Bridges & Culverts), and MicroStation LEAP Bridge Concrete Design Software.
Jacob lives in Spooner, Wisconsin, with his wife and 7 children. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys volunteering at his local church, spending time with family, canoeing, traveling, and watching Packer games.
