Vice President

Transportation and Construction Services

Scot works with State agencies, clients, and the professionals at Cooper Engineering to clarify procedures and roles on projects.

Scot joined Cooper Engineering in 1983 as a technician working in the survey and drafting areas.  He continued to gain knowledge in all areas of civil engineering at a branch office of Cooper Engineering in Hudson, Wisconsin, working and continuing his education at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.  Scot obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and returned to Cooper Engineering at the Rice Lake office in 1996 after working for another firm in the Eau Claire area for two years.

Scot brings to the company vast experience in the transportation and municipal engineering industry.  He understands municipal and administrative procedures, the intricacies of state agencies, and each aspect of an engineering project.  He has served on committees at the local and state level devoted to the safe routes to schools program, WisDOT local program oversight, statewide CAD training, and a Local Program Role and Responsibilities task force.  Scot takes an interest in furthering the civil engineering profession and helps professionals in the state serve the public.  Scot has also served as the local Chamber of Commerce president, secretary for youth sport associations, and coached youth soccer.

In addition to commitments in the civil engineering industry, Scot enjoys time spent hunting, fishing, and recreating outdoors with his family.  He lives in Rice Lake with his wife, and they travel to see their three children and families as often as time allows.
