Highlighted Projects
Village of Sheldon
Cooper Engineering assisted the Village of Sheldon to obtain funding for a WWTP and sanitary sewer collection system upgrade project. The Village-wide project helped upgrade the gravity collection system to increase reliability of the system, reduce infiltration and inflow, conserve energy, and provide better treatment. Two funding programs were successfully obtained to finance the community infrastructure.

Cooper Engineering's experience working with local, state and federal agencies offered the community insight to the funding goals, understanding of the guidelines and program caveats, helped develop timelines, budgets, and task lists to meet requirement and ultimately paved a successful road to completion.

11th Street, Cameron
Failing street surface, lack of sidewalk, and the closing of a railroad crossing for a parallel street was the impetus for the Village of Cameron to reconstruct and upgrade 11th Street. Localized flooding indicated a need for curb and gutter and storm sewer installation. Sanitary sewer line, manholes, and water services were also replaced before the street was reconstructed with the addition of sidewalk and street lighting.
Cooper Engineering’s multidisciplinary team members facilitated and catalyzed project management, project design, and funding coordination. 11th Street was widened by two feet to accommodate the local commercial users and daily thoroughfare traffic. Community buy-in allowed the Village to receive grant and loan funding for the project. Cooper Engineering investigated funding alternatives, conducted an income survey, prepared funding applications, provided program administration, monitored the progress and financial status of the project, and ensured compliance with funding requirements. Cooper Engineering helped the Village improve pedestrian facilities in the neighborhood and larger school community and deliver expected water, sanitary sewer, and roadway services to their residents.
