RUNWAY, TAXIWAY, AND RAMP DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION SERVICE EXAMPLES
|
- Relocation of the Rice Lake, Wisconsin Airport (RPD) to a new site. Several sub-projects included Runway 1-19, the terminal ramp, Runway 13-31, several taxiways, and the development of hangar areas.
- New primary Runway 3-21 at Superior, Wisconsin Airport (SUW). The 5,100 foot Runway 3-21 and connecting taxiway were designed and constructed on a site consisting largely of wetland. Soft clay subsoils required special design to provide a well-drained pavement structure and construction site.
- Runway 17-35 and ramp reconstruction at the Chetek, Wisconsin Airport (Y23). This project included replacement of the existing runway edgelights. Minor ramp and taxiway expansions were also included.
- Terminal ramp reconstruction/expansion at Superior, Wisconsin Airport (SUW). This project included the total reconstruction of the airport's severely deteriorated ramp and landside pavements. Storm sewer and pavement underdrains were included to provide a long-life pavement over the native soft clay. The project included a fuel system upgrade, rerouting of airfield lighting homerun circuits, and extensive coordination with various utilities serving tenant hangars.
